Spotlight: A Letter From L.A.
In March 2013, Catherine Contreras joined students from Los Angeles, Portland, and Qatar for the Áber student exchange trip in Qatar, which provides students the opportunity to explore language, identity, culture, and art. Catherine is a graduate of Bell High School in east Los Angeles, which is one of three public and public charter schools in the L.A. area that QFI supports by providing grants for Arabic language and culture classes. Catherine says that traveling to Qatar and learning Arabic has impacted her life and inspired her to explore more places. To watch the video in English with Portuguese subtitles, click here.
