QFI programming efforts depend in large part on having strong local partners who share our overall goal of promoting global citizenship. We work closely with our partners to ensure programmatic efficiency, relevancy, and innovation. Our operational partners range from secondary schools in the USA, Qatar, Brazil and elsewhere, to corporations, universities, and foundations.

The South America-Arab Countries Library and Research Center was founded on January 2003 and is a non-profit legal entity of unspecified duration. The purpose of the South America-Arab Countries Library and Research Center is to develop socio-cultural and economic activities in South America, especially in Brazil, and in Arab countries.

Earth Day Network

The Earth Day Network was founded on the premise that all people, regardless of race, gender, income, or geography, have a moral right to a healthy, sustainable environment. EDN’s mission is to broaden and diversify the environmental movement worldwide, and to mobilize it as the most effective vehicle for promoting a healthy, sustainable environment. EDN pursues its mission through a combination of education, public policy, and activism campaigns. Earth Day Network has a global reach with more than 20,000 partners and organizations in 190 countries. More than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day activities, making it the largest secular civic event in the World.

QFI has partnered with EDN to bring Earth Day events to Doha, Qatar. In April 2010, EDN and QFI commemorated the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and the first ever held in Qatar, by holding an environmental conference and workshop at Carnegie Mellon University in Education City, Doha.

iEARN

iEARN (International Education and Research Network) is a non-profit organization made up of over 30,000 schools and youth organizations in more than 130 countries. iEARN empowers teachers and young people to work together online using the Internet and other new communications technologies. Over 2,000,000 students each day are engaged in collaborative project work worldwide. iEARN International is registered as an NGO in Spain and has an international office in Callus, Spain. Since 1988, iEARN has pioneered on-line school linkages to enable students to engage in meaningful educational projects with peers in their countries and around the world.

Using this technology, QFI is partnering with Meedan to build a web-based cross-language social networking platform that will facilitate ongoing learning and social connections between it's programmatic partners.

National Geographic Photo Camp

National Geographic Photo Camp has provided programs for more than 1,000 young people in over 50 locations since 2003. VisionWorkshops has implemented over 50 Photo Camps, from refugee settlements in Uganda and Jordan, to Native American reservations in Taos, NM and Pine Ridge, SD, to inner city neighborhoods in New York, Miami, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Ocean for Life

Ocean for Life is an initiative to increase cultural understanding through ocean science.  It provides high quality, immersive ocean field studies and subsequent education programs for students of diverse cultures and backgrounds. At the center of Ocean For Life are high school students from Western and Greater Middle Eastern countries who have been selected to participate in a group field experience in a National Marine Sanctuary in the United States.
 

OneWorld Now!

Seattle, Washington

OneWorld Now! is an award-winning and innovative social venture that exists to develop the next generation of global leaders. OWN is committed to providing critical language skills, leadership training and study abroad opportunities to underserved youth. OneWorld Now! is developing global leaders by supporting youth in being successful in all areas of their lives.  Beyond the language, leadership and study abroad program, OWN supports youth through mentorship, college prep and networking for scholarships, internships and career opportunities.

Qatar Shell

Shell is the largest foreign investor in Qatar investing up to $21 billion in the last 6 years. In addition to building two of the largest energy projects in the world with Qatar Petroleum in Qatar, Shell has established a world-class research and development facility and a learning centre, the Qatar Shell Research & Technology Centre, at the Qatar Science & Technology Park. Shell has a financial commitment to invest up to $100 million on programmes at the Centre over a 10-year period.

The Walters Art Museum

Baltimore, Maryland

The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland is internationally renowned for its collection of art, which was amassed substantially by two men, William and Henry Walters, and eventually bequeathed to the City of Baltimore. The collection presents an overview of world art from pre-dynastic Egypt to 20th-century Europe, and counts among its many treasures Greek sculpture and Roman sarcophagi; medieval ivories and Old Master paintings; Art Deco jewelry and 19th-century European and American masterpieces.

U.S. - Qatar Business Council

The U.S. - Qatar Business Council is a non-profit, private sector organization which provides a forum for discussion of key economic, commercial and other issues of interest to American companies doing or planning to do business in Qatar. The Council also provides information and sponsors events and programs which provide insight into Qatar and its international and business environment. As the only American organization focused on improving commercial relations with Qatar, the Council plays a leading role in the expansion of the bilateral relationship. The Council is a membership-based organizations, and its focus lies on providing value-added services to corporate members in the US, Qatar, and around the world.

WeVideo

Based in Sunnyvale, CA, WeVideo offers full featured, cloud-based, collaborative video-editing. Founded in 2011 by Norwegian-based Inspera, WeVideo leverages years of developing online video learning experiences for K-12 students. WeVideo was formed in 2011 with the vision of bringing everyone’s stories to life with video. That means taking down the barriers traditionally associated with video editing—namely the cost, complexity, and the need for major computing resources.

Concordia Language Villages

In summer of 2011, QFI established a partnership with Concordia Language Villages. 31 youth from 20 different schools attended 2 or 4-week sessions at Al Waha, the Arabic Language Village.
