New Opportunity: QFI Alumni Education Awards

Deadline: April 30, 2012

Qatar Foundation International (QFI) announces education awards for study at a university or college—available exclusively to QFI “alumni” who are active in YALLAH (Youth Allied to Learn, Lead, and Help)

Exceptional QFI alumni are eligible for education awards to cover unmet financial need of up to $25,000 for study at an accredited university or college. Recipients may apply for award renewal each year of their undergraduate studies, pending the availability of funding.

“Alumni” are defined as participants in a QFI-sponsored educational trip abroad or students who have successfully completed a QFI-sponsored Arabic program in the United States or Brazil.

Education awards are available to alumni who have been accepted for study in Qatar at Hamad bin Khalifa University (“Education City”) or who enroll in Middle East studies or Arabic programs at accredited universities in other countries.

Applicants for education awards must have been accepted to an eligible university or college and must demonstrate unmet financial need, as determined by the university or college. Education awards will be awarded based on demonstrated academic performance, service to the community, activity in YALLAH and the QFI alumni network, and commitment to study in Qatar and/or study of the Arabic language or Middle East studies.

The application deadline for a QFI Alumni Education Award is Monday, April 30, 2012. Early applications are encouraged and welcome.

To apply, applicants must first read the Application Guidelines (downloaded as PDF) and then register through QFI’s Fluxx Grants Management Portal to receive a login and password.
