Doha Film Institute
Qatar Foundation International (QFI) has partnered with Doha Film Institute for the Doha Tribeca Film Festival's (DTFF) annual Family Day event that will feature a Film Festival Hosting Experience. DFI hosts will introduce acts and performances from all over the world, work with international professionals, and help to facilitate DFI's Family Day fun at the Cultural Village of Katara throughout the Doha Tribeca Festival from October 25 – 29th, 2011.
Focused on discovering and developing local talent, DFI, in partnership with QFI, found local high school students to act as co-hosts on Family Day. QFI student alumni from partner schools in Qatar will be using their talents to participate in the Doha Tribeca Film Festival. Furthermore, QFI will share their experiences through photos and blog posts, so stay tuned!
QFI has also partnered with the Doha Film Institute during QFI's Chicago2Doha: Connecting Cultures, Exploring Science exchange trip to Qatar in the Fall of 2011. During the exchange, American and Qatari students worked together in groups on a Media Project introducing students to photography, videography and digital storytelling. QFI worked in close partnership with Blue Legacy and the Doha Film Institute on guiding and supporting the students as they produce their own videos about their experience.
