Annelise Claire is a Communications Associate at QFI responsible for content development.
Annelise began learning Arabic in eighth grade because of a QFI-supported program at her school. Her interest in the language led her to a Middlebury immersion program in 2016, to Egypt and Jordan in 2019, and it connected her with an Arabic-speaking refugee community near her home where she learned practical applications of the language and the meaning of genuine hospitality.
Prior to joining QFI, Annelise interned at Ayuda, a DC-based non-profit that assists the local immigrant community, and at the Middle East Institute where she worked in digital publications.
Annelise is a graduate from Davidson College where she holds a BA in Arab Studies and in Digital & Screen Media Studies. She is especially interested in the intersection of hospitality, storytelling and digital media to create connections across linguistic and cultural divides.
