Omar Tarabishi

Omar Tarabishi is a Program Officer who oversees QFI’s Arabic Language Program. In this role, he helps to implement, develop and advance Arabic Language programs in K-12 schools in the US, Canada, UK, and Germany by providing grant opportunities to educators of Arabic. He currently works on Teacher Training, Arabic Honor Society, Arabic Teachers’ Councils, and School Grants.

Omar joined QFI in 2019. Prior to his work at QFI, he worked at the University of Maryland College Park as the Arabic Advisor, Summer Language Institute Coordinator, and Project GO Coordinator helping students succeed in post-secondary Arabic education. Previous to UMD, Omar worked as a Cost-of-Living Surveyor/Analyst at Air-Inc for over two years traveling to over 45 countries, mostly in the Middle East and Arab World.

Omar holds a degree in Arabic Studies and an MA in International Education Policy from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. He additionally is a graduate of the Flagship Program where he completed his capstone year at the University of Alexandria in Egypt from 2012-2013.
