George Mason University Teacher Council Professional Development Academy

Participants will be invited to two weekend workshops which are intended to allow for intense exposure to certain areas of interest such as classroom management, collaborative learning strategies, etc. The experience of blended learning, e.g., face-to-face coupled with online activities has been well received and teachers like its convenience. Additionally, teacher participants can actively engage in an on-going community of learning.

The spring academy will allow for teachers to reconnect more frequently with each other and the presenters to follow-up on questions, clarifications or after-thoughts. It will also give participants opportunities to engage in more intense conversations with their colleagues because they will be together for longer periods of time. This will ultimately create stronger bonds and relationships which are essential for success.
