Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language Course 2017
QFI’s annual TAFL course brings together QFI’s newest cohort of Teacher Fellows as well as other teachers in QFI partner schools to examine the principles and characteristics of effective Arabic language teaching and learning while considering the diglossic nature of Arabic, its unique structural properties, and the diversity of Arabic language learners. Participants will be introduced to best practices and technologies for teaching the Arabic language and also utilize time to develop thematic units/lessons for their classes. Participants will further learn Continuing Professional Development Units through Texas A&M University to utilize towards earning and maintaining their teaching license and certification.
The participants will also travel to the Concordia Language Villages to learn about immersion methodologies in a non-classroom setting.
