In partnership with the American Councils for International Education since 2019, the goal of this study is to learn more about the types and characteristics of students enrolled in Dual Language Arabic Immersion (DLI) programs, the basic structure of each program, motivations of parents to enroll their children in Arabic, and the possible impact of the program on social and emotional development of the students.
The four public or charter Arabic immersion programs in the United States are in the study: Baltimore Immersion Academy, Baltimore, MD; Arabic Immersion Magnet School, Houston, TX; Elizabeth Learning Center, Cudahy, CA; and P.S. / I.S. 30 Mary White Ovington, Brooklyn, NY
QFI published an article in the April/May 2020 edition of The Language Educator, chronicling lessons learned from supporting the four public Arabic Dual Language Immersion in the United States. You can read the article HERE.
