Maintaining Student Motivation in a Remote Teaching Context
The British Council and QFI were pleased to host an interactive webinar for Arabic educators on Wednesday, June 10th at 3:00 pm ET/10:00 am GMT+1. In this webinar, Joe Dale, an independent language consultant, provides suggestions on how to keep learners motivated during school closures. These suggestions, drawn from inputs gathered from the language teaching community, will allow educators to learn how to effectively support and motivate students in a remote teaching context. The session shares innovations and best practices of how to incorporate free web tools and different online platforms to engage with students learning from home.
Specifically, this session provides the following:
- Showcase free educational web tools that can be accessed on any device.
- Recommend different platforms that can be used to promote all four skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking), encourage collaboration, and provide feedback.
- Address issues of online safety and how to enable different security features in a range of web tools.
This session is led by the British Council, a United Kingdom-based international organization aimed at fostering cultural relations and educational opportunities.
