Spotlight: QFI and BibliASPA
QFI has partnered with BibliASPA (Biblioteca e Centro de Pesquisa América do Sul-Países Árabes; Arab and South American Library and Research Center) by supporting an Arabic Language and Culture Program in Sao Paulo, Brazil for high school-aged students in schools in and around Sao Paulo. The first Peers Educating Peers (PEP) debate took place between students from QFI grantee schools in Boston and Washington, D.C. Using Cisco's Telepresence technology, PEP students participated in the first of many lively discussions as part of a Socratic seminar series. The debate launches QFI into the next stage of PEP: practicing and sharing learned information about the students' respective cities. Topics discussed included general characteristics of their respective cities and challenges societies face, such as poverty and unemployment.

QFI has partnered with WeVideo to employ collaborative online film-making with students in Chicago and Doha on QFI's YALLAH platform. Using WeVideo's fully-featured, cloud-based video editing technology, students will create videos on local and global water issues.
