For educators of a less common language like Arabic, it is a rare moment to meet professionals peers, learn about the newest research and thought on issues of interest, and recognize connections with teachers of other languages. QFI sponsors, has a presence at, and supports attendance at major language conferences across the globe including the ACTFL Convention, Expolingua, and The Language Show.
We offer the Dora Johnson Awards on an annual basis to help increase the number of primary and secondary school Arabic teachers who may attend the annual ACTFL Convention. These awards provide funding to help participants cover ACTFL registration and attendance expenses.
We also support other regional language education conferences in the geographies where we work, and provide Maharaat Grants to teachers looking to attend conferences to benefit their professional development.
To view available grants, please complete the eligibility survey in the QFI Grants Management Portal at qfi.smapply.org.
