QFI’s RTG is designed to strengthen the connection between research and practice by supporting scholars and educators in presenting classroom-based research at academic conferences. The grant fosters collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the practical application of research to benefit K–12 Arabic classrooms.
Research on K–12 Arabic language education—especially practitioner-led classroom research—remains underrepresented. The RtG addresses this gap by enabling educators and scholars to share evidence-based insights with broader academic and professional audiences, inform instructional practice, and directly impact student learning.
Last year, 23 grantees brought their research to audiences in the UK, Canada, Spain, and Egypt, exploring topics such as identity and cultural connections in Arabic learning, AI integration in language instruction, collaborative professional development models, and strategies for integrating dialects. These presentations expanded the knowledge base for K–12 Arabic education and increased the visibility of classroom-informed research within academic and professional communities.
The RtG aligns with QFI’s Research Agenda, which bridges research and classroom practice, and builds on insights from a scoping review of Arabic language teaching and learning conducted by the University of Oxford’s Department of Education.
QFI now welcomes new applications for the 2026 grant period. Information on eligibility, thematic areas, and application instructions can be found on the application portal.
