2026 Summer Scholar Award Now Open

The Summer Scholar Award supports high school and secondary students currently studying Arabic in a public/state-funded secondary school program in the countries where QFI is currently operating (Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States) who want to strengthen their language skills.

Strong applicants of all skill levels will demonstrate their passion for the Arabic language through their academic records, extracurricular activities, involvement in Arabic school programming, their application essay responses, in addition to an openness to learn about different cultures.

Students may apply for any short-term intensive or study-abroad summer Arabic program (in-person, online, hybrid, domestic, or abroad) with authentic exposure to native speakers.

Award recipients will receive up to $5,000 to cover tuition costs for a summer Arabic language program.

Summer Scholar Awards may NOT be used to attend programs that receive organizational support through the QFI School Break Arabic Program Grants because there is already dedicated funding available to participants. A list of these past programs/organizations is available here.
