This webinar will seek to answer some of the questions through the perspectives of three journalists who have all reported on the war in Syria and give students the chance to learn more about the role of a foreign correspondent.
The three panelists will all speak and answer questions submitted by attendees in advance and during the event.
Zaina Erhaim, a Syrian journalist who was reporting on the Syrian war from within Syria.
Nicolas Pelham is The Economist’s Middle East correspondent.
Bill Law is a Sony award-winning journalist.

Especially at the time of the corona lockdown, it is all the more important to combine online learning with exercise breaks and loosen up with active games. How can this be achieved – even if the lessons mostly take place in front of the screen and space is limited at home?
Our speakers will show you how it can be done: with simple tips, exercises, and examples that you can use in your lessons!

This 2.5-hour workshop will focus on key tenets of teaching for social justice in world language and will provide entry points into participants’ own curriculum. The workshop will include hands-on work with social justice standards and World-Readiness Standards and opportunities to brainstorm and collaborate with fellow participants. Participants will examine a variety of examples and will leave the workshop with the next steps for their own curriculum and program.
Dr. Cassandra Glynn is an Associate Professor of Education at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN where she teaches methods courses for pre-service and in-service teachers. She also serves as Director of the Master of Education in World Language Instruction in partnership with Concordia Language Villages. She is co-author of Words and Actions: Teaching Languages through the Lens of Social Justice.
