Teaching Arabic in Germany

This study was conducted by the University of Leipzig Oriental Institute from 2021 to 2023. The study's goals are to provide a comprehensive overview of Arabic teaching in German schools, including addressing challenges faced by those involved in Arabic programs at the school level, incorporating expert perspectives, and concluding with practical recommendations for improving Arabic in schools in Germany.

The research involved interviews and surveys at schools where research permits were granted. Participants included teachers, pupils, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders. The study reflects the diverse perspectives of these groups and summarizes the structural aspects of Arabic language teaching in Germany.
